It arrived quickly in perfect condition and she seemed to enjoy the gift. We ordered this for my son's teacher during Teacher Appreciation Week at his school.
I looked in the stores close by and the glass was so thin on other teapots. I thought the teapot would be larger but it worked out very nicely. I would diffently go for the 40 ounce teapot. I bought this teapot because I had received the flowering bud tea as a gift so I wanted to show off the budding flower tea. I hope this helps. They were great. I bought two to take to a ladies church tea. It was very different than anyone else.
The tea tastes great, even the third pot. I don't use the infuser, you can't see the flowers very well when they're in it. I thought this was just a gimmick, so I didn't buy one till I found it on clearance. The aroma is also delightful. All in all, highly recommended. Wish I'd bought one sooner. The unfolding of the flowers is mesmerizing.
The green tea flavors are ecceptionally tasty, their effect added to by the nature of the steeping process. Three people could be served in traditional tea cups without running out as well. Decorative, usable, entertaining, good quality, and good value. The glass of the teapot is very thin, so extra care is needed when transporting or moving the teapot, like say to the neighbor's house or to work. The tea flowers open quickly and can be dried out and kept after two or three uses. The pot size is perfect for two full mugs of tea, serving easily two tea-lovers. And of course, the tea flower can be used again within the next 24 hours. The decanter is a little more sturdy, as well as the lid. The inclusion of the decanter is a big plus for when you use loose tea leaves or if the tea flower, after multiple uses, gets battered enough to fall apart.
Not sure how my DIL will reuse the flower [says you can use each flower 3 times]. We gently poured it over the flower. Other flavors are available. Everyone looked on with amazement as we watched this little ugly tea ball open and turn in to a pretty little flower. We boiled water on the stove in a regular pot [as you do with any china or porcelain tea pot].
In a few seconds it floated to the top and went in to a dance. Good value [just $30], relaxation, and enjoyment are defintely all there in this set. Gave it 4 stars vs. 5 stars because they do not tell you how to remove the flower or store it. I bought the Primula Tea Pot Set as a Christmas gift. What a hit at our holiday celebration. One by one, the ugle brown fronds opened and a lovely little flower started to emerge [maybe 2 1/2" dia]. We received the jasmine tea flowers with the pot.
Serve it to say, this should not a deterent. The flower is very delicate so we'll see how storage and reuse works [ we zip locked it for transport home and storage].Set comes with the clear glass pot, a clear glass infuser to use with loose tea vs. That would have helped. Even the box that the flowers balls come in is just lovely.Overall, I would highly recommend this gift for anyone who enjoys tea. The flower finally all opened, sunk to the bottom of the pot and rested there as we gazed at it and enjoyed our tea. the flower balls, and a full box of jasmine tea flowers [12].
We opened the box on the spot and made a pot of tea. The tea flowers are sold separately for use in any tea pot, but I would highly recommend the clear pot - you'll miss all the fun without the clear glass as a stage. The tea itself was kind of weak for my taste, but I am not an avid tea drinker so I will reserve judgment here. and waited. My guess, the type of flower has anything to do with the flavor of tea; flavor is likely infused in to the flower.
